Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well wishes!! Storm is still south of us, so none of the really bad effects yet, just light rain and gusty wind.  Electricity has flickered a few times and our generator has kicked in, so it's operating as it should.  I'm really worried about the high winds.

I figure that at the least it will rip off the AT&T TV dish on our roof along with vents to bathroom fans, vent to kitchen range, and the attic ventilation thingies that spin around on the roof.  As these things are torn off, I'm sure that pieces of roof must go along with them.

This house suffered no damage in Hurricane Katrina and no flooding, but Katrina was not as strong a storm as Ida.  Still, I'm hopeful.  I went through Hurricane Betsy as a teenager and it was also a 4.  I'll check in as long as our AT&T internet lasts.  Again, thanks for all of the positive thoughts.

@shoesnbags  The waiting is the most stressful part of the hurricanes for me. I'm in VA on the coast and have been through many but not a 4!
I'm praying for you and your son to be safe and dry in the storm. Take care!

@shoesnbags   Thanks for the update.  Continuing to hold you and your son in peace and health throughout this storm.  Stay hopeful, you made it through Hurricane Betsey....you can make it through this.  .  Good news that the generator is on.  We are here....hang on, this too shall pass.

@shoesnbags - I'm so glad you have a generator. DS is there, in a hotel on St. Charles. He went to Tulane and was supposed to start a new job tomorrow. No car, so he couldn't go anywhere.

It was hard to lead our service this morning. I told everyone what was going on before they started recording. We've talked to him some, but the power is out now and I want him to conserve his battery.

DD missed being a bridesmaid in her friend's wedding in Massachusetts last weekend because of Henri.

One worried Mom. Weather Channel on 24/7.

Stay safe. I will pray for you.
