Thank God Shorty - Great News.

I have been getting mammo'd since I was 25 and have never been told immediately. I usually end up waiting a really long week.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Re: Waiting and worrying (mammogram)

Awesome news! And good luck trying to get your facility to change its procedures and let you know immediately. They don't have to give you a detailed explanation, but they can tell you that you're ok. You are paying for a diagnostic mammogram - they should read it right away and give you the results. Actually next time perhaps you can get this clarified when you make the appointment. You might have to be a little assertive, but you could end up helping not only yourself, but everyone else who uses that facility!

and it goes on to talk of breast density and about mammograms and what they show and don't show. Its 2 pages (it used to be a card).

Thanks again for the prayers and posts. I appreciate them.

AND to all who have had breast cancer and or are waiting for results I am saying prayers for you too!

As far as go someplace else? There is no someplace else around here that tell you right away, because I have relatives and friends who had breast cancer and I have asked them,

BUT I am going to suggest this at my cancer Dr next week and inform him that other areas do not make people wait like this!

Best news ever. Prayers and best wishes to keep you healthy!

I think the wait is because they compare the films and check and double check. They want to be certain. I know I have to wait on results.

Re: Waiting and worrying (mammogram)

Great news, shorty!

The time something similar happened to me, at least the tech was kind enough to explain that she thought some movement (of the machine or me) had blurred the image and she wasn't sure she had a clear enough image. She was only running that by the doctor.
