Oh dear! I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this - and alone!
I'd be beside myself. I hope it stays dry for you now!

Oh, Mick, I am so sorry! How awful, and by yourself, too ![]()
We had a window leak once with heavy rain, I crumpled up Saran Wrap and stuffed it in for a temporary fix, then put a lot of paper towels around that.
Crossing my fingers you will come up with some temporary fix!

@Noel7 ~ It is the flashing around the window that is the problem. We had it repaired a few years ago....anyway.... the water was coming through between the frame and the house.....ugh. The rain just started coming down, but not as heavy as yesterday.....thank gawd for buckets, towels and my carpet shampooer as I have extracted the water.....

That'a a lot of work, I'm glad you were able to get it cleaned up, Mick.

Me too, Mick! I'm still thinking about this situation that besieged you and I feel almost overwhelmed from here! (yeah, lame but I get overwhelmed easily now)
Positive thoughts and good vibes coming your way, that things dry up for you.

@chickenbutt ~ No worries now.....I was freaking out yesterday. Phoned my husband in a panic. He gave me the worst advice of taping plastic to the outside of the window.....how am I going to duct tape plastic to wet stucco?!?! He pissed me off so much that my anger got me going......hahaha! I have a 15 year old son to help me later if I need to move some sandbags that are supposed to keep the rain out of my garage!!! Those suckers probably weigh 50 pounds each now.......

Oh, good. Glad you have some other support. Yeah, I hear ya about the husband. Sounds like something mine would do! It does get you going because you realize that somebody with THINKING abilities needs to take care of things.
If you want to hear something funny/scary - One year when we had our last HUGE snowstorm, there was a couple of feet of snow atop the house. After a while it's best if the snow is removed, or at least reduced.
So, he gets this brilliant idea to tie a HUGE brick (like a cinder block type of deal) to a CHAIN and he starts slinging the brick on top of the house to pull down snow. Now, mind you, if that weren't enough, the large living room window is directly below where this is going on.
I went out there and said 'Are you freaking kidding me?'. He's like 'uh, what - I'm trying to pull some of the snow off the house'. *sigh* Um, no - not a good plan. Please stop. I could write a book of 'man plans' that make zero sense. ![]()

@chickenbutt ~ OMG!! How hilarious! My hubby is really intellectually smart, but when it comes to house problems not so much.....I had to show him how to place the sand bags against the house......he had them next to the house.....I said throw the suckers against the house and squish em in there....duh.

I hope there is a little relief for all of you dealing with these massive amounts of rain. I just heard that LAX set a record for rainfall yesterday. That says something . . .
