s/o is in the san diego area.....near thebeach. he said it rained hard for a period of time and then lighter rain. he said it was quite windy and that the freeways were covered with water. a transformer blew in the area where we have a business and he had to shut down around 2pm. business is usually awful during rainy days, but this made it even worse!

Lots of rain here in Arizona, not complaining, we need it.   I saw pictures of flooding in the San Diego area, very disturbing.  Good luck to everyone living in areas hit hard, take care and be safe.

Was it flooding?  Or was it the driver not knowing how to drive in rain?    Lots of people in SoCal cause accidents because they have no clue how to drive in rain!

Although you all probably know this, in the interest of no one here getting a traffic ticket:

I learned this about ten years or so ago while preparing to take kids on a field trip, and someone from the school office told me about this law.  I notice that many people do not have their lights on.

It seems like it rained all night here, I kept waking up and hearing it.

The front porch took on water, DH is putting on some old clothes to sweep it out.

We are supposed to get  hit hard again this afternoon in San Diego.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

@Tinkrbl44, I didn't know that, hadn't heard it before. Assuming you live in CA. You sent me in pursuit of the laws in my state regarding lights, we are one of two of the most lenient states that only requires lights on if visibility is less than 200 feet. Many states are 1,000. However, I always drive with my lights on, regardless, because I simply believe it is safer.

Hi Maggie Smiley Happy

Thanks for looking that up.  I've noticed more and more people in the Bay Area drive with their lights on most of the time.  I don't during a bright day, but I sure do for an overcast day, rain or even a hint of fog.
