The first picture is wonderful...it has haunting presence. Somehow, the other renderings lose the history and magic of the original photo, showing the castle in its actual state.

I love that the ruins still stand on the cliff.  It is a part of history for all who visit  The virtual reconstruction is stunning and the castle must have loomed majestic for all that time.

Too often we do not preserve our treasures and instead knock them down or destroy them for a building which isn't even built as solidly.

This is a landmark with so much history and stories.  Beautiful!

Re: WINDSWEPT RUINED CASTLE

[ Edited ]

@Kalli,

Oh gosh! We should meet in a cafe somewhere! My father and his brother didn't talk to each other for a few years. The brother didn't have such a good reputation either lol!

@Oznell,

I have a beautiful framed poster of the Kylemore Abbey which I think is the most beautiful castle. It goes to every place I've ever moved.

My father used to have a plaque that said: "Help Wanted-No Irish need apply." I always thought that was so funny bcause we were Irish. I think that was his humor. It wasn't until years later that I realized that was an actual thing of not hiring any Irish who came over to America during the potato famine in Ireland. So not so funny!

Anywy thank you for these great pictures as always!
