I am retired, but have been looking for a part-time job to keep my mind busy and my checkbook balanced.

I was just hired as a University Supervisor for teaching candidates. I will be the liason between the school, the cooperating teacher, the teaching candidate, and the univeristy. I will visit the school site and evaluate the teaching candidate on a regular basis to determine if they are meeting the criteria to become a licensed educator.

I will have one candidate at the beginning and as I gain more experience may have more. I am hoping that the cooperating teacher, the candidate, and I will make a good team so the present students benefit from this experience and so that the teacher candidate's future students will derive a good education from her knowledge, practices, and implementation of those practices.

My assignment starts with the fall semester, and I am so thrilled about it. I will have to complete a university workshop on-line to become familiar with forms, expectations, etc., and will be doing that during the summer.

I want to do a good job. It is so important that we have good teachers in classrooms.
