My reaction to her is more, I've always enjoyed a certain insouciance in her, and her spirit, which has come through, regardless of age. To me, it's pretty much a given that actors and actresses, always in the public eye, do things large or small, to enhance the way they look. And photographers often cooperate in that enterprise.
She has certainly evolved-- as she's aged, she's become rounder, her figure has changed, and there are visible wrinkles, even though other 'work" has been done. Doesn't really matter to me. In all pictures of her at this stage, she looks to me like an older woman, a mature beauty.
But what I enjoy about her the most, is that old-school "movie star" quality, and the mystery, that she's always exuded, and still does.

I didn't google.the picture. I just guessed that it was Deneuve. I agree with that poster that said some people would argue over a free lunch.

@lgfan , I'm impressed that you guessed it, and you too, @Allthingsgirly67 .
In hindsight, I see now that there is something vaguely "Denueve-y" about the way her signature mane is flowing over her coat, but, I still wouldn't have got it. So kudos!
She came from such a theatrical family, both parents having been French actors. And, incidentally, in light of the discussion on this thread, her famous older sister, Francoise Dorleac, didn't have the luxury of aging like Catherine. She died in a tragic car crash sometime in the Sixties, returning from a vacation with her sister Catherine.
They were both darlings of the French cinema.
Francoise Dorleac, below. I think there is a noticeable resemblance:
Catherine Deneuve:
Catherine was born a Dorleac, but took her mother's maiden name, Deneuve, so she wouldn't be confused with her sister.
I wish our poster @golding76 was still posting, since she is quite an authority on French New Wave cinema and has always had the scoop! Anyway, it's nice to see that Catherine is still going strong, esp. since her stroke a few years ago.

I don't care how much she has been air brushed, filtered, or cosmetically fine tuned, she has aged beautifully and we should all be so lucky.

ITA! I LOVE her!
I started wearing MAC makeup in the 2000's because of her. I went in to get a gift, thinking the line was too "young" for me. A collection named after her was coming out in a few weeks and they talked me into an appointment. I bought most of the line. ![]()
