purchasing Jigsaw puzzles? I know that I can go out looking, and I will, but I just thought if someone had found a good source, I would appreciate the suggestion.
I don't want to order online. I would rather be able to look at them in a store setting. It is for a holiday gift.
Ideas?

I would try Target, maybe Michaels.

Barnes and Noble.

Michael's was the first to come to mine as well, but I would imagine Hobby Lobby would have a great selection. Check the websites online to see what is offered then visit the stores next.

Saw a good selection at Bed Bath and Beyond. However I am an online shopper and there are great selections there. Never had a problem picking them out and great variety.
Another idea----- There is a place or two that you can send a photo of something or someone you value... and a jigsaw puzzle can be made of it.
1. I took a snapshot of a religious picture of sorts that was hanging on a wall and I had it made into a gigantic jigsaw and then put it together and framed it.
2. I took a picture of one or two family events and then had them made into jigsaw format. Framed now on my wall.

Barnes and Noble for brick and mortar and if you want to go online either Puzzle Warehouse or Bits and Pieces.

Some years ago, I got some puzzles from a Hallmark store. You can check online to see what they have and then call your local store to make sure they have the one/s your after. I'm sure they'll even hold it for you if you ask.

Hobby Lobby has a lot of puzzles in their stores.... everyone wears masks, social distancing practiced, and plexiglass checkout too...
And concur about Barnes & Nobles too....

Barnes & Noble has a decent offering of puzzles and there are a few specialized game/puzzle stores where I live.
However, I buy the bulk of husband's puzzles online and build up points for a future purchase. I can enlarge the picture to see it clearly.
