@MaggieMack wrote:I am about 1/4 Irish, confirmed recently by 23&Me. I have been hungering for corned beef brisket lately, so will probably do one of those, it will last days with just pup and me gnawing on it. There will be a big parade that I will miss, but I will also miss the saturation patrol that will be on duty that night. I'm a wee bit Scottish, also, and relate to that so much more after reading the Outlander series. I shoulda been a Fraser!

FYI: I have done corned beef in the oven, the crock pot, and lastly the pressure cooker. My new pressure cooker, which I love. I was always too worried about them, but years have passed and everyone told me they are so much better now.
My point? lol... It was SO MUCH BETTER done in the pressure cooker, and took less time, of course. We were all shocked. Honestly, moist and like butter.
The first one was a try out about a month ago, and of course we will be doing it that way again this week.

Betty Crocker has a new page up for their 10 favorite Irish recipes.
Wow, a Reuben Casserole, Beer Cheese Soup, and Irish Whiskey Cake. They look good!

and everyone else, you may have noticed that the Irish folk (vendors) have started a new thread announcing they will be chatting on St. Patrick's Day (over on the Holiday forum).

Okay, so I'm not Irish, and there's nothing going on around here. No parties or parades to attend. I am challenging myself to wear green every day this week - a task made easier by the weather changing from almost-summer to almost-winter by the end of the week.
And I will wear my celtic jewelry.
I am not a beer drinker, so I am going to ask what may be a silly question. Is there such a thing as a good Irish wine? ![]()

I can't drink wine so I don't know, but I can suggest an Irish coffee. Hot coffee, Irish whiskey with a little sugar and a really big dollop of whipped cream floating on top. Or a corned beef sandwich.
Are you part Celtic? Welsh, Scottish, Isle of Mann, Cornish or Brittany? All those have some things in commom and frequently share celebrations.

@Noel7 Sorry, not a coffee drinker either - LOL! Maybe I'll just stick to the Bailey's! On weekend mornings I can have my River Shannon Blend Irish Breakfast tea.
I'm part English on my mother's side, but I don't know what part of England we hail from.
