Just another day for us. Nothing special.

Showme, I've always enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day threads. I kind of wish the items would be sold a month prior to March 17..... You know, they start Christmas sales on July 25th! I might like to order and receive my items in time to use them for this year's decor.
Wishing you good luck with your treatments, and good health in the future.![]()

Our day will start early at the VA, where my husband has 2 appts; hopefully we will be done by 3:00. It will be a tiring day.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope he will be OK, RedTop. I hope you both are able to relax when you get home, maybe with a cup of tea or a nice treat.

I think the same thing every year! I'd like to be able to order something that I can put up on the mantel for the 17th.
But then again, it is nice to have it on as background the same day, it feels festive.

Lots of Irish excitement brewing. (Yes, pun intended!)
I was also wondering whether anyone who owns the Stephen Walsh DVD of Irish fables and foods has had success in accessing the "root menu" so as to be able to print out the recipes.
I've found the "root menu" on my copy, but clicking it does nothing.
Has anyone had any (Irish) luck with this?
ETA: I found the solution. I explained over on the Electronics forum.

I am about 1/4 Irish, confirmed recently by 23&Me. I have been hungering for corned beef brisket lately, so will probably do one of those, it will last days with just pup and me gnawing on it. There will be a big parade that I will miss, but I will also miss the saturation patrol that will be on duty that night. I'm a wee bit Scottish, also, and relate to that so much more after reading the Outlander series. I shoulda been a Fraser!

I, too, am about a quarter Irish and a quarter Scottish.
The rest of this is off-topic, so apologies to @Noel7.
Since you are part Scottish, I wanted to let you know (if you haven't already discovered the series) about Hamish Macbeth with Robert Carlyle. A well-done series with lots of quirks plus beautiful Scottish scenery. (There are, of course, books as well, but I have not read them yet.)
It's likely you're well ahead of me on this!

We are not Irish so we dont celebrate St Patty's Day. Our house is decorated for Easter. But if you celebrate St Pattys Day have fun and enjoy!

@GingerPeach, no, I hadn't heard of that recommendation, thanks! I go to Scottish night each year to try the Haggis. If you love Scottish, pick up Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. A most excellent read! I so fell in love with Jamie Fraser that I bought a handmade kilt from Scotland in Fraser plaid!
