Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

80 degrees here in southern WV right now, expecting a high of 86 before rain moves in for a couple of days.  We really need the May showers to bring good soaking rains our way.

Made a quick trip to the bank to deposit donations for the upkeep of our family cemetery.  Mowing season has kicked off and several graves have already been decorated for the upcoming holiday.

@cowboy sam

Good luck with discouraging a persistent groundhog!  A lemon scented trash bag is probably not going to discourage him.  Years ago, we had a groundhog determined to live under our deck.  Regardless of what we did to deter him, he just kept digging his way under there, exposing our water line, so he died, and problem solved.  I'm sure you don't want to kill that groundhog, so I learned after our experience that a strong mix of castor oil and water sprayed/spritzed around their burrow is a deterrent.  Do hope you find a way to discourage the little rodent!

In the last month, we have trapped and relocated multiple nuisance rodents here; opossums and raccoons that I do not want around my house.  There are also unwanted male cat visitors that have sprayed around my house, and I watch the raccoons on my security cameras tracking the cats smell, which includes coming up my front steps to check out the porch.

I love living rural, but there are too many nuisance critters!

"So he died," the remark made me laugh out loud while reading it.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

I want to wish everyone here a safe Memorial Day weekend. I hope you are able to get out and enjoy it. We have parades, food trucks in the parks, and lots of activities. A lot of people will have cookouts with family and friends.

Our temp is forecast to be 83 and mostly sunny. Take care and be well friends.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

@tansy I am not stalking you today, lol. I am sorry about your fall. Our worst fear. Please keep us posted. I don't normally post here but I came here today looking for a poster that regularly posts here. I see she hasn't been here for several weeks. Hoping that she is just taking a break and comes back soon. I don't want to call her out by name and put any more pressure to return before she is ready.

Walked Fur-Baby:  Went 4-miles.  Got results back from the testing they did of his liver and news is good.   He will need to have another ultrasound done in 2-3 months to make sure the nodules don't change/get larger, etc.  At this point, the nodules do not appear to be cancerous.

Outdoor Stuff:

Washed outside of gutters that go around garage and also above the picture window.

Painted 2 wind spinners.

Scrubbed 2 large landscape rocks near the front door.

Cleaned tops of 2 garbage cans that had some mold/mildew.

Planted some grass seed under the pine trees.

Next project is to trim tree in backyard.  It's a dappled willow.  It's very pretty - it has lovely pink leaves in the spring.  Problem is that it needs to be trimmed at least 4 times a year.  I purchased a ladder on Amazon that has rails on the side and large pads for the feet, ( I think QVC also sold it) but I'm still nervous when I trim the tree as I need to stand on the top step to get to the top of the tree and also use extended arm pruners that are heavy.    I think I'll do it for a couple more years and after that have it done by a landscaper.

I casually mentioned it to the landscaper today and he did not seem too eager???  It takes me several hours to do; so perhaps he thought the fee would be expensive?  Not sure, but I guess if he does not want to do it I can find someone else - preferably someone that is nice and tall!    Smiley Happy

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

Today was my third visit to an endodontic dentist. I'm disappointed to learn my lower back tooth cannot be saved. It has a vertical fracture. When I was originally sent there, I suggested just pulling that tooth. Oh no, you always make an effort to save a tooth.

Visit one, he said 75% chance of keeping it. Visit two, it was down to 50%. Today it was a 0% chance. He offered to pull it today, but I declined because we have a busy weekend. Plus, he said they aren't in the business of pulling teeth, but he is capable of it. I guess, I'll call my dentist, but I'm not looking forward to an extraction. I'm supposed to get a refund because I paid for the whole procedure in advance. Probably just enough to pay my regular dentist!
