Dropped my car off for service before work. I received a text that my service report was available, and that my car was complete and ready for pickup.

One of my co-workers took me to the dealership, which is close to the job, and I picked it up and returned to the office.

The next three days will be very slow in the office. We have Thursday and Friday off, so a lot of people are taking the few days before off.

Lawn Guy Called: He said he's done with doing leaf clean-up but would come out if I needed him. Told him I've been trying to keep up with it and it looks good so I will not need his services anymore until spring.

Tru Green: We've always had a lawn service for weed and feed. Got a letter today with their fee if I pre-pay now for next year's services. The price was a lot more than last year so I called ( I think I have to call every year). I used the phone prompt to "cancel" services. When I got the rep I told her the proposed price is too high and I'm calling to see if there is anything she can do to get the price lower; otherwise, I guess I'll have to cancel. She said - oh no, you don't need to cancel - let me see what I can do. She gave me a price about $140 less than last year! It's an example of "it's the wheel that squeaks that gets the grease".

Need to wash dishes: Starting to accumulate in the sink and running out of forks.

Mended a sweater: It's a very nice soft sweater but it had a small hole in the neckline. I never wore it, it still had tags on it. Don't know how the hole happened. I mended it and it looks good. It'll be a nice sweater for running errands or to wear at home. It's soft and warm, but not too warm.

Did some Christmas shopping yesterday. Today I wrapped them. It's extremely foggy today, and tomorrow it will start snowing.

Still working on Christmas cards; 53 degrees and raining here in southern WV. We need the rain, which could be enough to get the area out of a drought classification.

I decorated my new Balsam Hill Christmas tree with the 111 Joan Rivers ornaments I collected over many years. It is beautiful if I do say so myself.

I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday and will wrap on Friday. I only buy gifts for a few people. On Saturday I will do my Christmas cards.

Tomorrow I will decorate my little 3 1/2 ft. tree that I put up in my den. It has special ornaments that I have collected over the years.

Although my holidays are quiet I truly love this time of the year. The get togethers, cooking and baking, and parties are no longer but that is fine with me. Enjoyed those festivities in my younger years but not anymore. I like to be home and able to relax. I have learned that things change in our 70's.

This morning I had my acupuncture appointment before work. I really like that my place has appointments at 7:00 a.m. and it's less than ten minutes from my job.

I reviewed a contract and then began planning catering for my department's Christmas party in a few weeks.

I will be leaving shortly, since I have a dentist appointment this afternoon.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It was so windy and snowy yesterday. Didn't even make it to the senior center for turkey dinner. Today we will go to church, and then to a family member's house for 2pm dinner.
