Took Car to Auto Repair Shop: Had an appointment today to drop off a car for repair. One of the workers drove me home. He was a very nice man that was just darn happy!! Sounds like he has a great family and loves his job. It was nice to be around someone like that - it was very uplifting. ![]()
Washed Garage Floor: Since the spot is open in the garage where I usually have the car parked, I decided to go outside and mop the garage floor. Also, hubby had stashed some stuff (hub caps) in a box in the rafters above where my car is parked. Used a ladder and removed the box full of hub caps. Added them to the pile for the metal men. He also had a large heavy duty cardboard box stored up there. I brought it down and will break it up in the evening when hopefully it's a little cooler. Will then put it in the recycle bin for next week's pick-up.

It is 90 degrees at 1pm and the heat index is to be over 100 degrees today and Thursday!!
If i walk at all with neighbor it is later like 9-9:30 pm...but we are drenched with sweat even after a short walk!!
I am hoping mower guy cancels me both days but he is 23 years old and needs the money...i could call and cancel but he would still tell me that he be here in early evening hours !

Heat and humidity is heading your way @viva923. No rain to speak of, and the heat index is 100. I'm going out to water plants and then head back in.

Very hot and humid today.
Took fur baby for 2.5 mile walk.
Worked on lawn: Neighbor had new sidewalk put in front of house. In the process some of our lawn got dug up and they replaced it with new soil and seed. I thought what would hubby be doing about this as he kept the lawn perfect. I decided to add more of our own grass seed, I watered it, and I placed a couple of watering cans by the back door so I remember each day to water the areas. Of course the grass has not started growing but weeds have. So I plucked out about 20 weeds.
Going to read the newspaper: I have not read yesterday or todays so I'm going to do that now. Also, I sometimes use some of the fast food coupons that come in the paper. I'm going to go in the basket where I keep the coupons and throw out ones that have expired and add the new ones.
After that I'm probably going to read a few more chapters in a book I started, have a small lunch, and then watch General Hospital.
Have a good day and stay cool!

Took fur baby for 2.5 miles today. It's very humid today!
Spreading ashes: Today is my husband's birthday. I purchased a lovely memorial stone from Etsy that has my husband's name engraved on it, along with his birthdate and date of death. The verse reads: "Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and always dear". I'm going to place it on the patio close to the place where I sit in the evenings with my little fur baby.
I have two small containers of ashes. Today I'm going to spread one container in our yard. My husband loved being out there. (The 2nd container I'll spread next month on our anniversary in a park he enjoyed).
Today is going to be difficult. I have not cried this much since he passed. I have quite a few people that told me to call them anytime I need to speak to someone. Today I may need to call and reach out to one of them.
My poor little fur baby, is getting smothered today by me with hugs and kisses. Thank goodness he takes it well. In return I'm getting smothered by him with kisses!

Today, DD and I are going to the annual Bellevue Arts/Crafts faire--one of the biggest on the west coast--or so I am told. Hundreds of booths and LOTS of food as well as restaurants--our fave is Cheesecake Factory!!! Today it is cloudy and cool--highs only near 70*. should be fun-
