Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

I'm surprised to see the nasty and hurtful posts here recently. This type of behavior is being done by adults so it is no wonder our children are being bullied and even ending their lives. I was blessed to have role models when I was a child. Our world sure has changed and not for the better.

All of you posters who are kind, caring, helpful, and thoughtful are much appreciated.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

@Mersha You're entitled to your opinion just as I'm entitled to mine.  I've read countless posts on these boards that are more offensive, rude, bullying, insulting and argumentative than anything posted about faith, yet they're allowed to remain. Go figure.  And I was never interested in finding a so-called faith based message board (especially at QVC) and was simply surprised to see what is and what isn't deleted here.  It speaks volumes IMO.  Enforcement of any social media's set of rules very often reflects the biases of those individuals doing the moderating and can be quite ambiguous and inconsinstent from one moderator to another.  But we can at least agree that these are QVC's boards to moderate as they see fit.  QVC decides its rules and I decide where I spend my time and my money.  It's a win-win for both of us.  Have a blessed day.

@dooBdoo Thanks so much for providing all of that information, but as explained in my post to @geezerette it appears the QVC forum isn't a welcoming place for me to spend time because I refuse to be silenced from honestly voicing my views and opinions, especially those about faith, so this forum won't work for me.  But that's OK - it's better that I understand it upfront rather than waste time writing posts that get deleted because heaven forbid, I had the blatant audacity to refer to my Christian faith.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I obviously don't belong here, but thanks for your kind words.

Peace Out!

You're welcome, @MadeInUSA2!😊

The info detailed in my last 2 links,

"Community Guidelines"

and

"Controversial Topic Guideline Change",

from 2015 and updated in 2016, explained that QVC decided to add religious content to the other controversial categories (such as politics).

It was a complicated situation which was discussed at length back then, but my understanding of the gist of it was that the specific, detailed religious (of any and all faiths, by the way) threads and posts were generating arguments, controversy, and bad feelings among enough posters that the Q chose to modify their policies.

For me, I was confused at first but over time it helped me to accept that they represent and are read by a global audience and as a privately-owned forum this was in keeping with their wanting to avoid controversial discussions.

I am a lifelong, devout Christian.  Although I miss being able to post more in detail about my faith, I also don't feel in any way silenced and don't feel my belief system is under attack.

Most of my Facebook account is devoted to my faith, and there are a vast number of other venues that are designed for that...  Q just decided they were not.

I agree to abide by their posting policies when I use their forums -- to me, it's like visiting someone's home and respectfully abiding by their wishes while I'm here.

Also, the more we argue and push back against their guidelines, the harder it is for the QVC Social Team to moderate...  and that extra work time is quite likely to contribute to Q deciding to close the Community and save the cost of moderation and also the cost of tech time/resources maintaining this venue.

QVC does permit all general posts about faith, and it's my personal feeling that we can share our faith in the way we treat others and the way we present ourselves -- the way we move through the world, the energy we bring to this space -- without needing to be detailed about that particular faith, so that's what I try to represent and do as my true testimony.❤️

Sorry to be so wordy... it's a complicated issue, involving a myriad of emotions and deep soul-searching mindful thought, and in my opinion it's worth discussion at least occasionally since our new...  and welcome... posters don't know the Community history.

I understand not everyone will agree with my thoughts on this, and that's really okay because we all learn from listening to and hearing all views.

I just wanted to try and explain, in case it would help.

I genuinely care about this community, all of the people who post and read.❤️

I continue to welcome you here, and do hope that whatever decisions you make will be the best for you.❤️

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

After 3 days this week with temps over 75, today is cool and rainy, AND the day we had to go out!

My husband had 2 VA appts which we try to set up on Friday afternoons because it's usually a slow time and that end of town is pretty easy to get around.  Not today!  We hit school traffic and every area of town was busy.  Obviously a lot of family has come in for Easter!

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

Spent time at the garage having routine maintenance done on our SUV. They gave us a 2023 loaner Buick to use so we didn't have to sit there the whole time. At 6pm, we attended a Good Friday service. Tomorrow, I'm making our Easter dinner a day early. Weatherman says we could get three inches of snow - then we are in for a big warm up next week.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

I returned from vacation yesterday afternoon. I drove home from the airport and stopped at the house long enough to drop off my luggage,  check on my home after being gone for a week and I was back out the door. I was able to wash my car which was dirty before I left, due to the unending rain we were having in Southern California, but after being parked outside for a week in the airport lot was absolutely filthy. I picked up something for dinner, and turned in early because I was exhausted.

Today, I have a bunch of little things to do. I am unpacking, cleaning my home, reviewing my checking account which I have not looked at in over a week, pay any upcoming bills that are due, and lastly get ready for work tomorrow.
