Thank you. DH bought his dream car a few years ago. He loves it but it's ridiculously impractical.  I can't believe he doesn't feel silly when he uses his well-deserved handicap placard and gets out of it with a cane in his hand, but it doesn't seem to bother him, lol.  Mine is the workhorse. He named it Sven, and it's a good thing I love it because it will take me six years to pay for it.  If I timed it right, it will be paid for before I retire.  God willing.

house_cat, I haven't seen the Volvo ad,  but I have been intrigued with Volvo's since I was a kid.  When my Grandpa passed away in 1954, my Grandma sold their lumber yard to a fellow from Switzerland & he always drove Volvo's.

My  DH & I were in MA & ME in September & we saw lots of Volvo's, but I didn't see any dealerships.  Darn!

Off topic, but our 11 year old DGD is a wonderful poet.

How wonderful to have a young poet in the family!

You are very lucky.

I'm a fearful driver - I'm not afraid to drive, but I'm afraid of the other crazy drivers on the road. When my kids were little I researched the safest vehicles but couldn't afford them.  Now that I'm well on my way to being the little old lady who only drives to church on Sunday morning, I thought it was time to choose safety.

house cat, there are no poets in our family & I only  found out  3 weeks before Christmas that she loves to read & write poetry. On Christmas Eve night I asked her to write a poem for my 91 year old mil (her great grandmother).  It was entitled "Legacy".  My mil was so blown away with the poem that she called me & said she was writing a thank you letter to our dgd.

Poetry is such a great outlet for her emotions as she moves into her teens. I've written poetry since I was a young girl, majored in English and political science in college and became an English teacher, then a social studies teacher.  Perhaps you can gift her a lovely volume of poetry, a beautiful blank journal and a special pen 💓

What a fabulous idea.  She will be 12 years old on March 14.
