Define 'their fair share'.
They already pay most of the taxes in this country.
And why do we feel the need to penalize people who were either smart enough or worked hard enough (or both) to create wealth, but we aren't supposed to even judge those who won't even do enought to take care of themselves, let alone contribute to society as a whole?

Hi- I don't think anyone is deluded into thinking there's no waste, abuse and fraud. What is "angering" about this thread is that the OP is making a big, big assumption about the recipients of free lunch. Others are generalizing those people who receive it as moochers, frauds and negligent parents. That isn't the reality.
The 'assumptions' argument is flawed. Many of us know from our jobs, our families and friends, our own experiences, more than one person who does exactly what the OP has claimed. Even the OP is going to be right about a good number of the people she is refering to in the original post, if not all, even with just the information she has, and what the people are saying to others in public.

Audits of SNAP and WIC show one of the lowest percentages of fraud & abuse of any gvt. programs.
What audits, done by who, when, and where.

You can't change it. Don't lose sleep.
This is exactly why we have what we have in this nation. A political system that is ineffective, a multi trillion dollar debt, Social Security on the brink of failure, and more.
Apathy is a dangerous thing.
