The Orleans is a big casino and a hotel.  It's a bit off the Strip, but the prime rib dinner is the best.  They have restaurants and a buffet.

The buffet at Ceasars has been voted the best buffet for a couple of years now.    It's $50 per person.  They have a lot of sushi if you like that.  I've been to that twice, but I doubt I'll go again.  There are some big restaurants in the Ceasars Forum, including Cheesecake Factory and an Italian place that serves family style.  Planet Hollywood has a really good breakfast buffet and their crepes are the best.

Some of my favorites are:

Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris - french

Mesa Grill in Ceasars - southern

Bouchon Bistro in the Venetian - french breakfast brunch

Gordon Ramsay in the Paris, steak

I don't eat prime rib........but hubs does, and we MUST go to Canal Street at the Orleans so he can have prime rib, they do have a Halibut there that is to die for.......but I also like Big Al's Oyster Bar and Koji.......more my type of food...................................raven

Love oysters so will have to check that out. We are planning on going to Koji already. About 4 of my husbands friends who know our taste in food have recommended that to us and say we will love it. So you are about the 5th person that has recommended it so it must be good.

I gotta say, besides the wedding, I have never been to Las Vegas and I have never really cared or been interested in it because I am not a big gambler or drinker. It just never really interested me before but I am really excited. We got some tickets to some of the shows and I am excited to go to them as well as some of the restaurants. I have always heard what great dining there is there so I am looking forward to it. We are going to see Celine Dion. I like her alright but I was never a huge fan but I do think she has a wonderful voice and I am kind of excited to see her.

The best buffets are Caesars and Wynn.  We usually do a late lunch as you save some money but get the full experience.  Other favorites are Battistas Hole in the Wall ( LV institution, fixed price Italian and all the wine you want included) and Lotus of Siam (one of the best Thai restaurants in US).  Both of these are moderately priced.

Irishgirl, isn't Rao's in Caesars?  I like the SW Steakhouse at Wynn.  Oh, the other place I love is Bobby Flay's restaurant Mesa Grill, which in Caesars.

If you enjoy breakfast and are driving, the Jokers Wild in Henderson, NV on the Boulder Highway has a great breakfast and the standard hash browns, eggs and bacon is ridiculous in price, like $1.79!  However, its good.  My brother lives in Sumerlin and they drive out there for breakfast quite often.

Irsh, another great buffet is Wicked Spoons at the Cosmopolitan.  A little different, and you might enjoy seeing the decor of the hotel.

Re: Vegas restaurant suggestions.

I second the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan for a fantastic buffet. The Orleans has a variety of restaurants, The Primerib loft is great as is Canal Street for a little more elegant dining. Koji, and the seafood place are very informal, but the food is very tasty. Their buffet is only so-so but very reasonably priced. Have a great time in Vegas and enjoy the shows and all the great restaurants. You can pick up info at the airport about things to do while you are visiting "the Adult Disneyland". We have been going to Las Vegas for over 20 years, it began as business trips. After retirement we continued returning to visit friends who live there and go to shows.
