I remember that theme andthe composer very well. Very talent and music that will forever be associated with the movie.

It's sad another talented musician has left us.  Chariots of Fire is one of my favorite movies and certainly the Vangelis music is one of the highlights of the movie.  I know he contributed much to the entertainment world and his music will live on.  May he be at peace with God.
