He informed me of something called cremation benches with memorial comments on them. Apparently these cremation benches can accommodate 12 containers of cremains.

So I finally tell him that I come from a small family, have no children and can't see why I would spend the money on a memorial that no one will visit. Posters - please don't feel sorry for me. I'm very matter of fact, visit me while I'm alive - know what I mean?

So then he says, no children, oh my. I said, you know, I don't feel less than just because I don't have children, thanks for making it seem like rotten luck {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

This poor guy was back pedaling like nobody's business. One interesting thing I learned is that if I'm cremated within 48 hours of death, I don't have to be cremated. See? I learned a money saving thing without making an appointment.

I was shaking my head when I read your post about Thai food - it was right on time.

This guy is slipping; I thought sure he'd told you they have mourners to sit on your bench for a small fee. He'll think of it so wait for the next call. And I loved your comment about 'making it sound like rotten luck'Wink Glad the timing was right to hear about our Thai dinner.

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

Hello all - I finally started to take advantage of my AARP membership. I signed up with Consumer Cellular. It was sad to say goodbye to my pantech flip phone (lol) and now I am carrying a Motorola smart phone - fancy that Wink. I had been thinking of 'seeing new people' for my communication needs and when my sister's phone fell apart on Saturday (her phone was older than mine), I said, I'm going with another company and can add you for $10. The phone was less expensive, we're not stuck with a contract and I think I just might like this {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}. That's my exciting adventure for the month - I am so boring {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Well a new phone sounds like fun to me. I have an I phone which I like. Merle doesn't like his at all. He claims ignorance when he wants to add a contact or change one but I'm on to him. It's justveasier to hand it to me. The sun is trying ot shine a bit and boy that makes a difference. I hate grey days. Hoping the slush will get off the streets so I don't ruin the car wash I got on Sunday.

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

I like lots of light too Betty and today's providing it in spades for me. It's supposed to get cold again tomorrow so I'm taking full advantage of it. So far that and laundry has been the high light of my day, but it's still been enjoyable. Oh, yes, I mustn't forget the petit fours I ordered for Jim for Valentine's Day arrived a bit early, but we didn't let that stop us from diving right in. I usually order them from The Swiss Colony for Christmas, but didn't for some reason and Jim was disappointed, so wanted to make it up to him.

Epi, I keep forgetting to mention to you how much we are enjoying our Polarfleece sheets! They are so delicious I can't even describe them adequately, but to say we both love them is an understatement. Seems like someone else mentioned using them as well, but I don't remember who it was.

Happy Tuesday all. Sue

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

Good evening fencers. How're things with everyone? Our beautiful sunny skies have gone on to other areas and left one of those gloomy days though it's only in the low 40's. However while feeding the cats, Jim said it was snowing, but not enough to stick. He just told me that the forecast for next Tuesday and Wednesday is a significant accumulation of the white stuff so says the weather man.

Bird Mama, I think you told me once before, but I've forgotten how to post pictures on our post's. Do you mind telling me again? TIA

We're having chicken and dumplings and cornbread for supper. Ya'll come!

Happy Hump Day! Sue

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

OK people - do NOT get upset with me BUT by Friday we will probably be up into the low 90s. Can you believe that. Today it was very warm - have to add another BUT - it was super windy so sometimes that takes away from the real heat. Winds are suppose to continue through tomorrow late in the day. Say a prayer that no fires will develop from those winds. SCarey.

Another very very busy day. Davey to school, then stopped by Curves, clipped some of the limbs from the fruitless mulberry tree that David's dad cut for my BD - soooooooooo appreciated. However we have to cut them up in small pieces so we can put them in the yard waste containers. Takes a long time to get that done but I had to finish up as trash pickup is early tomorrow a.m. Could have gotten a few more pieces in there but the kids were going in different directions also. Quite frankly they have had an ENTIRE week to help but what can I say. Do appreciate all they did do. Went to the senior luncheon at the church I use to attend - was not going to go but heard that Ken - awesome voice and plays a mean keyboard, would be there as entertainment. He sings songs from the 30s and 40s and 50s!!!! Could not miss him - so I went. Probably will be the last time - they have started so very late - today 40 minutes late - each month and that bugs me a bit. Picked Davey up from school and yes indeed he DID stay for the homework after school time - he needs it. Dug up a few more broad leaf plants in the back yard and that is that. Have collards on the stove and have some pasta salad left in the Fridge so will add that to the dinner and add some corn. I know, a really weird dinner but it sure suits my fancy.

Hope all had a great day - wish all of you could enjoy our nice warm weather.

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

Freddie, I'm tired just reading about your day Smile. I can't imagine 90 degrees right now. I hope that when it does change seasons, our warm up is gradual. We've had some years that went from winter to summer without much spring in between and I didn't care for it.

I woke up coughing like an idiot at 5 am this morning. At first I thought I slept with my mouth open again and dried out my throat {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}. The sneezing started a few minutes later, I was cold (under a quilt, wearing a hoodie, long sleeve top, undershirt, yoga pants and socks on my feet) and my throat hurt.

I called in for the day off and took the first Zicam at 5:15. Just took the second a few minutes ago. If I keep on a strict 3 hour schedule, I have every confidence that I will nip this in the bud {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} I should be right as rain tomorrow.

Re: Valentine Day Fun at the Back Fence

If I was younger and prettier, I would offer to do a commercial for Zicam. I'm back to work and feeling like myself! I will continue to take the Zicam today, just to make sure whatever 'it' was is gone.
