Yes, we've always exchanged cards and small gifts. My niece sent me flowers and I received them this afternoon.

My dh & I give each other a Valentine's Day card every year.  Our first date was on Ground Hog Day in 1969.  He gave me his class ring12 days later on Valentine's Day & we will be celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary on March 14.  We still laugh about it.  We usually go out for a nice dinner, but because of Covid19, I made him a special dinner for tonight.

No, we do not celebrate Valentine's Day or any other holiday except for our birthdays and Anniversary.

We no longer exchange gifts for any occasion.  There is nothing we need and if we want something, we just go get it.

I have to be careful not to talk out loud when I like something, or my DH will buy it for me.  He bought me an Anniversary ring because I admired it....I really didn't want it, but I am happy to have it.  I wear it everyday.

I recently threw out many years worth of cards from my DH, family and friends.

DH and I always give each other cards and little gifts.  Life is short and we always try to celebrate each occasion and make each other feel special.  It doesn't cost much and it doesn't take much effort.  I also send cards to a few family members and friends.  Most of them say it really made their day and it was the only card they received.

Cards - yes.  Gifts - no.  If we want something during the year, we purchase it.

@Carmie I can never say I like something from the bakery because I will end up with it once a week for the rest of my life!  His heart was in the right place but how much pie can one person eat in a lifetime, LOL.

Re: Valentine Cards

[ Edited ]

My husband and I had our first date 30 years ago today.  We've been married almost 28 years.  We do celebrate by exchanging cards and going to dinner.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but we love being together after all these years.  We've also kept all of our cards to one another in two large containers.  Love looking at them.
