Tried & tried, but it just doesn't work on my hardwood floors{#emotions_dlg.lol}

I had no idea there were people out there so obsessed, though I've seen people mow their lawns in specific patterns.

It also reminds me of the way they groom baseball fields.

Hey, have fun - whatever floats your boat, or, er, pushes your vacuum!

Maybe you would have liked them had they been round? LOL

Oh, that's beautiful! But I like the look of one long vacuum line rows. I just love new carpet. Unfortunately it doesn't stay looking that good at my house for very long.

A complete waste of time, and it doesn't even look good.

It's not my esthetic but why not just get a patterned carpet ?

My mom is a nut for this. Where I have the type of carpet that shows the lines, I notice when they get 'messed up' and it makes the room look sloppy to me, when the lines are there, and even when they are gone. So I have tended to switch to wood floors and Berber carpet. With the berber, you don't see the footprints, the sweeper lines, or the matting of carpet over time. I think it gives a cleaner look.

I agree. When we had plush carpet many years ago, it only looked nice right after vacuuming. As soon as someone walked over it, the lines were gone and it looked messy.

We have a few rooms with berber now but most of the rooms are tile or wood. So much easier to maintain compared to plush carpet. JMHO

I always knocked myself out to buy carpet that didn't show lines or footprints. Had a neighbor who had brand-new carpet removed and replaced because it showed footprints..
