I love to go during the summer but the crowds are less and cost is lower. Can't decide and I want to make plans. What's your thoughts?

Not sure what type of vacation venue you're interested in.

We've been going to the Outer Banks for the last couple of years. We either go in late spring or early fall. The cost of house rental drops dramatically. Being down there during season is so crowded and the traffic is awful. The only disadvantage to going off season is that many businesses and restaurants are closed. The weather generally is still nice enough to be on the beach.

We also sometimes go to Myrtle Beach. Not as much problem off season with business closings. If you interested in golfing, they have plenty of courses there.

Once my kids were grown, I preferred vacationing in the spring and fall because temps are cooler, less crowds and usually off-season rates.

That would determine when I go. Of course, that's the reason why many places are less expensive in the Off Season...the popular things that draw people are shut down or not available!

Two big Wisconsin vacation spots are Wisconsin Dells (summer) and Door County (summer and fall). When we visit, we go in spring.

I went to Wisconsin in the early fall and loved it. We don't get a real fall so it was beautiful.
