I will be traveling to San Francisco (business + a few days on my own), Cape Cod, MA, and mid-coast Maine.

Maine is the prettiest place in the world, if the weather is cooperating, in midsummer. SF is my favorite US city, well, maybe after Manhattan.

Some years ago we vacationed in Maine. I was amazed at what a gorgeous state it is.

I don't think there is a bad time to go, do which ever works best for you and have a great time! Personally, I like shoulder season, less crowds (usually). I recommend Maui Revealed as a good guide book.

I have 3 Maui books but not Maui Revealed. I lived on Oahu for 3 years but only have been to Maui once and absolutely fell in love. Nothing like it.

depends on where you want to go...I just retired in December and am looking forward to several trips; one in May and one in Sept. after school begins.

I just like the name, it looks so pretty there and the Eagles sang about it. I do like to body surf though.

I hadn't been to Maine since I was a young girl, but 4 years ago we had a Family Reunion w/ all of the cousins (and spouses) and their kids in York, Maine. I was the only Grandma (or Grandpa) of the 22 cousins! The only surviving Aunt was there too - we had a wonderful pic taken of the 4 generations at the Lobster Restaurant we met at. We stayed for 2 days and had a blast.

I agree I love that Eagles song yet I love all Hawaiian words. Thanks for the complement. I have to say a little of me goes a long way. After 20 minutes you could be sayin "what was I thinking!' but thanks.
