Vacation at St. Pete's Beach FL Next Week

My daughter and I are going next week for her spring break. Never been there before, and looking for recommendations on great places to eat, shopping, must see sights. We've only been to Orlando. They have several eating places on the resort, but I would like get out and see the rest of the area.
