So many  service members who died  let alone all the civilians .

 That brutal Battan death march was nothing but cruelty .

Remember my Grand parents  saying how happy they were when the  war finally  ended  .

Thanks for the reminder. My dad fought in the Pacific in WWII. I sometimes think folks today just have no idea how absolutely horrible war can be.....war on that level and magnitude. Just my opinion. @catter70

My mother lost a brother in the Pacific.  We don't hear too much about this except for Pearl Harbor.
