Using on Craigslist

Has anyone had luck selling items on Craigslist? I recently had 5 pieces of furniture posted. Took me 2 months to sell 4 of the items. I still have a Mahogony desk chair. I dropped the prices down a few times , but it was interesting. People would e-mail through the listing; tell me that they were "very interested", wanted all the measurements , even set up a time to see the item, then never show up. I am happy that I was able to sell most of my items but as I see so many things for sale for hundreds of dollars, I wonder if they really sell! I would be interested in hearing about anyone's experiences with this selling method.
