Using PayPal balance to donate

I have my Mr. Rebates balance transferred to Pay Pal every month.

It seems that, in the past, I was able to use this balance to donate to my favorite causes.

But, lately, I cannot seem to use that balance, as Pay Pal defaults to my credit card on file.  Right now, I have over $100 in my account, and it still goes to the credit card.

I know I've done this, but maybe something has changed.  I just spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out and could not.  I saw something about Pay Pal Plus, but it didn't help.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

@Witchy Woman

when i go into my paypal account i go to the website via my computer.

towards the right hand side there are three buttons.....SEND, REQUEST, and MORE.

if you click on MORE, you should see a  link that says DONATE TO A CAUSE.

i am not sure if this is what you are talking about or not?

PayPal Giving Fund Donating Details

  1. 100% of donations made here go to charity, no deductions, no fees.

  2. You are donating to PayPal Giving Fund, an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) public charity (Federal Tax ID: 45-0931286). PayPal Giving Fund will provide you with a receipt for your donation.

  3. When you donate to PayPal Giving Fund, you also recommend a charity you want us to give that money to.

  4. We collect donations and deposit them in the PayPal accounts of the charities recommended by donors, typically within 15-45 days of the original donation.

  5. If the charity you recommend is not enrolled with us, they will receive funds via check, typically within 90 days.

  6. This doesn’t happen often, but if PayPal Giving Fund cannot fund the charity you recommend, it will reassign the funds to a similar charity and whenever possible will consult with you on the reassignment.

  7. Pending delivery to charities, donations are held in a non-interest bearing account.

I'll check that to see if it pulls funds from my balance OR directly from the credit card.

I think I've looked at that, but will check again....thanks.

To clarify, I have funds in my account I want to use, but it draws/defaults to my credit card no matter what.

There is an option to transfer those funds to my Bank, but that's not my preference.  However, if all else fails, I'll do that.

@sunshine45

I just walked through it, and I think that's the key.

I had to enter the email address of the group, then it gave me the option of using my balance.

Somehow, I overlooked all this or didn't get it the first time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
