I see nothing wrong with asking what happened,  At least 99.999% of people would ask.  Hosts usually say what happened to them when they take time off due to illness.  I hope Mary Beth is doing well whatever her current difficulty is.

These hosts are put in our houses every day.  I think curiousity is a natural reaction.

Wish people would STOP chastising others for being curious.  It is natural.

I don't think a car accident (if that's what it is) needs to be a state secret.  Even if you had 100 lawyers.  No one is asking to stalk the woman for heaven's sake.

There is nothing wrong with wondering, in my opinion.

I don't really watch anymore but my mom called me about Nancy saying to stay tuned for some sort of announcement about Mary Beth and why she wasn't there. I admit I tuned in. I really didn't get why they had to have a letter read about a car accident ( or even mention it) but then to have the promos in the letter for upcoming shows..... That was a bit much.

I agree people are curious about the host that have been on the Q for many years. They get attached to them like they are family. In fact many of the host say they are family. So I think many interpret it as such in their mind. So I do not think you should judge someone because they want more info. I keep wondering about Jacque Gonzales. At first she was posting on her facebook about her illness and then all of a sudden no information. So it does make people wonder if there is something more serious happening. I wish both well in their recovery.

Actually, that's quite thoughtful of them. If you read some of the inquiries on here, people wanting to know about past and present hosts, I think that's quite thoughtful of the Q to let the people who consider hosts as friends in their homes. If they watch daily, it's like a visit from them for some people. No problem.

When my good friend was in a car accident, she was OK but did suffer a lot of bruising on her face.  That would be a good reason to not be on TV if MaryBeth had something similar.

Mary Beth may also be experiencing whiplash, which is a normal occurrence even in fender benders.  I hope Mary Beth is doing well and that she takes whatever time she needs to recuperate.

I guess the bruising could be from an airbag deploying.
