@LTT1 You're so kind, LTT1
. I don't get wild fires in my city, but I know they happen in other parts of the USA and I hope and pray that On It and everyone effected by the fires are safe and ok.

@On It I am sorry to hear this. I will continue to lift you up in prayer for safety. Do be safe and glad to hear that you and yours have prepared to be gone if need be!

I watched a briefing on the fire this afternoon. There is much work to do before any containment can be declared. There are 1000+ firefighters assigned to the fires.

The Alto Ski shop was a landmark. It had been there for years. It was lost to the South Fork Fire.

This is a summary of what was disclosed at yesterday afternoon's briefing from the complex fire team in charge. They have built their base in Alamogordo because of communication issues in the Ruidoso area.
I do not know this man. Item number 3 did not come from law enforcement. Rumors fly in small remote areas. I will wait until officials release that information before I acknowledge that this is the fire's cause.
The list is accurate. I heard the briefing myself. Item number 3 was said to be undetermined.

@On It Hoping it's not long before you can return. I'm sure it will be emotional, but I hope all is okay in your immediate area. I'm sure it will be many years before things return to their new normal. Hoping the devastation is not as bad as it may appear now. Will be thinking about you.

Communication is gradually being restored. The mayor posted a message. He stated the village is badly damaged. Help from more sources that I can remember is arriving. He encouraged everyone to stay away.
The sad news is dogs are being brought in to search for victims in the burned neighborhoods.
The rain event that is being forecast for this weekend is expected to bring catastrophic flooding. The last event of this level was Hurricane Dolly. It washed out bridges, destroyed homes and infrastructure, and threatened lives.
On a personal note, our home sits on the side of the mountain. Our driveway is steep. I am not concerned about flooding. Other issues from heavy rainfall do concern me, but I am not going to mention those or put that energy out there.
It is going to be a long, long weekend.

@On It You, and your community will remain in my prayers. Thinking of you. (((❤️)))
