I resent that remark, since I am someone who just started a thread about Pokemon,

As mentioned before, the threads were poofed because of the posters NOT the subject!

Apples to oranges.  You're way off.

I wrote nothing about politics.  I wrote about a tragedy where fellow human beings were killed violently.  Sorry I even cared.   Thought I was coming here to share with fellow human beings.

@Black Cat Back

Earlier in the evening we had had a discussion and offerings of prayers but then the crazies took over and Wayne zapped them all

We care and a lot! But this tragedy like Dallas and Orlando before it cannot be discussed without ugliness here on CC.Smiley Sad

They don't want to listen to reason.  They only see things through their eyes.  They will only believe what they want.  Ironically, very close to the topic at hand.  It's just too bad but that's the way of the world.  Always has been and always will be.

I don't know what you wrote about, hot street, but it isn't cool to disrespect others for the posts they start.

And last time I checked, I was a human being!

There are topics that get nasty very fast and this is one of them, if people would keep politics, religion, bigotry and plain hatefulness out of the discussion then and only then can it be civil.

OP...The discussion was about newscasters which revealed a political leaning.  Perhaps there would not have been a poofing if the discussion was about the facts, horror of the event, and expressing our condolences.  I think the mods are attempting to keep these posts from going "off the rail" due to politics.  Actually, during the last attack in France I remember the posts continuing for several pages.  We were keeping our discussions about the facts of what was happening and expressing our prayers and concern for those lives that were being directly impacted.  The mods did not interfere.  I don't know what determines their decisions, but I think politics and religion are delicate areas of discussion and when it becomes heated posters will most likely become concerned. I have learned a lot from these boards and respect the people on them.  I don't feel that our discussions are dumbed down as a result of moderation intervention.  The mods are doing their job when appropriate.
