Universal Studios in August--Help!

My Son and I are taking 6 & 8 yr old to Universal Studios on 1 August.  The listed price for that date is $259 a ticket (High Season, just before school starts).  Does anybody know if deals etc to help a little.

@patbz   Years ago when DH & I used to take our son to Disney & Universal we got discounts through DH’s employer. They gave us a card that we showed at the ticket booth .Sometimes we got 15% off, sometimes it got our son in for half price .Once we even got one adult ticket for free. It may be worth it for your son to inquire.

That's obscene!  Over $1,000 to visit a theme park for 4 people?  Is that a 1 day pass or multiple days.

Try AAA

Single day tickets are extremely high.  I know AAA discounts Universal tickets, but that might be for multi days.

Costco might have a Universal deal too.

Try AARP also if you're a member.

Holy cow!  I had no idea a park could be that expensive!  Good luck I hope you find a deal out there somehow.

@Travone :  That was AAA!!! I told agent I wanted decent hotel trying nte $200 w/one day pass for two adults and two kids (6&8).  She quoted me $1500!!!(she picked most expensive hotel--$500 nightly and fast pass unlimited).  I booked Best Western for under $200 nightly and we are getting tickets (No fast pass) for $109 each.  This is high season (which I hate).
