These were not toddlers or 6 year olds. They were teens. I haven't seen pictures so I don't know how they looked in the leggings, but that could have been part of the issue as well. And we all know that even if you are fit, leggings without a long top are rarely a good look.

I know but since the rules do not distinguish between adults and kids this is a valid point.

The thing is we have a million news channels and they all have 24 hours to fill it up. This is a non story. Yes they tried to twist it by not revealing they were flying a family pass. Yes they tried to make a feminist story about what women can and cannot wear. No mention of the standards for males are. Does anyone think a ten year old boy in a Speedo would be denied the flight? I do. I say this might only be a lesson in entitlement if anything. The airline is giving a nice perk to fly free with the requirement of a dress standard. Take it or leave it. Really it was up the parents to instruct their children of the rules.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

I have no problem with dress code as long as it is fair to all and not arbitrarily handed out because Corporate has not bothered to read their own rules and seen where problems may arise. And trained their staff. They of course are standing by their rules but I can bet you since I have worked in corporate law that some heads are rolling for not spelling out to all exactly what they mean.

The rules do not state no leggings. They state no spandex clothing, this includes pants and shirts for everyone holding a free pass ticket. If you are flying on a pass, this means you. I have never seen spandex clothing for babies though it probably exists somewhere. I have seen spandex pants for men ( bicycle pants) and for woman and children and I have seen the shirts for all genders.

The rules are spelled out clearly. I don't know why you are missing them. NO SPANDEX CLOTHING FOR ALL RIDERS WITH A PASS TICKET. That means everyone with a pass ticket, no exceptions. No, means no. No doesn't mean the rules are negotiable.

Airlines also only allow passengers limited luggage of a certain size and weight. I have never seen where adults and children have different rules for luggage. All passengers are to follow the same rules unless, spelled out differently in writing.
