My co-workers husband just found out today that after 22 years with his company his division is closing. So he is now un=employed no warning nothing.
He is 62 and not in great health. So honestly him getting another FT job looks bleak
My question he will get about $10,000 (severance pay I think) and his vacation pay and paid through March.
Should they 1. Pay off their $10,000 credit card with monthly payments of over $450.00/mo.
OR
2. Pay their taxes through the year of almost $11,000.
She asked me I'm thinking pay off the credit card. Especially if things get bad down the road they can atleast us the card. Right now it is maxed out.
Thanks, Katie
