I generally have to pay cause I work on commission only and get lots of 1099's but this year was way worse ( or way better, I guess, depending on how you look at it)and I am having them not only with hold at the highest rate, but having them with hold a $$ amount each month as well...crossing fingers for next year!

This is what we started doing several years ago so there would no be such a shock at tax time. We withhold a lot.... and then some... but I would rather not have a huge surprise in owing them in April. This was the first time in YEARS that we actually are getting some back. Not a lot, but not writing a check. The goal would be to be close to getting nothing back and owing nothing if very little. We got it pretty spot on this yearSmile
