I had called QVC’s Corporate office to ask if they could post something asking for thoughts and prayers for the people of Ukraine and giving a few suggestions to charities.  Well, I was listened to politely.  Sadly, nothing. QVC has now lost me as a customer.

@PamfromCT  Why should QVC?  It's a retail selling establishment. Did you go to your local Macy's and ask them also?

Re: Ukranian Nuclear Power Plant on Fire

The fire is presumably out and no radiation was/is detected (leaking).  NBC News et al.

It has got to be so horrific for that entire continent at this point.

VP has a target on his forehead and I'm sure he realizes that.  His *suspicion meter* has got to be off the charts.  Who can he trust?

Including his inner circle.

Is their allegiance to him so strong that they're willing to end it for all mankind?

He is hearing everything being said worldwide.  It's getting funneled right into his head.

Tried for war crimes?  That's not going to happen!  Do you think he'll chose to live to see that?

He may pull the plug on all of us--what's he got to lose?

It's a terrible Catch 22 situation now.

@Lucky Charm   I agree. Someone has to take VP out ASAP, for all our sakes.

Speaking of Patton,I heard someone comment the other day that the world is witnessing what happens when you go from having General Patton to Gomer Pyle.

@Pearlee, Answer should be simple.  Macy’s does not have a TV site, running 24 hours a day, noting other tragedies - do you recall? - nor a blog.  I truly feel sorry for you if you don’t know the difference.  But then I do realize some folks have a reputation for being contrary and always starting disagreements.  Some day you might learn to question without being snide.  Hope springs eternal.

They need military help not Dollars.

@TW, Did anyone say Ukraine does not need military help?  I don’t think so.

Right now Ukraine is fighting their hearts out.  More countries are sending more arms, including Sweden (a non-NATO country).

As a ordinary person, I cannot send them arms.  But they are short of food, medical supplies, etc.

How about the million plus people (mostly women and children) who have fled from Ukraine with nothing?  The countries who have welcomed them in and are trying to help them are wonderful beyond measure.  But can you begin to imagine all the aid they need?  I guess maybe not.  This has been called the biggest humanitarian disaster since WWII.

@PamfromCT While I may not agree with your opinion on this subject, I fully support your right to express it without being subjected to personal insults. As for Putin...he is an evil, power hungry lunatic just like Hitler I don't think there is anything that will stop him from continuing on his current path to prevail. He must be stopped in any manner that is necessary or we are all doomed. As 911 taught us...we are not immune to being attacked on our soil. We are a target of many of the World tyrants. I hope our leaders and allies find the strength and wisdom to end this before it gets much worse.

@PamfromCT One of my biggest gripes is that businesses and corporations should shut up and focus on their business.  It isn't the place for businesses.  They need to be fair, obey the law and do the best they can for their products, their ethics in house and their customers.  Period.

@golding76, Thank you for your respectful response.  DH and I have already made a donation, but are ready to make another one.  There are so many organizations helping out.

My DB was shopping in a small chain store in our area yesterday.  He was asked if he wanted to make a donation, which he did.  The clerk then told him that some $75,000 was donated within the last several days!
