@Tadaki wrote:I also think standard time is better for my body. Every time we go to DST I have to make a real effort to adjust my sleep time. But I love coming home and being able to go for a walk in the daylight. So my solution is standard time BUT we all get off work an hour early : )!
Also, I don't think any legislation has passed in both chambers -- maybe the senate but not the house? Seems like it passed in one but then constituent complaints started pouring in.
You're right, this is exactly what has happened.

I like getting the extra hour next Sunday; I also like that it is lighter in the morning.
At the end of December, you can get a bit more daylight every day.
Spring will return.

Thank you for the reminder. I look forward to adjusting the kitchen clock, which runs fast. It's now about five minutes ahead of the actual time.

I didn't realize that things were finalized for next year. I was hoping to keep standard time. Not a fan of daylight saving time. But whatever, just pick one time and stick with it. Don't understand why they messed with things to begin with years ago.

There are just fewer hours of daylight in winter, no matter what our clocks say.
I wonder if people realize how late in the morning it's going to remain dark in some areas of the country in winter if we stay on daylight time permanently.

If there was general agreement on permanent DLS, or on permanent ST, it would have been enacted years ago. However, people are more or less equally divided, so it stays at the twice a year change. DLS was tried some years ago and it produced multiple problems. Had it been a success, it would have been enacted then.

@occasionalrain I remember back in the early 70s we did not switch back to standard time one year. There were many compliants b/c it was dark in the morning when children were going to school. The next year the country went back to switching.
