understaffed and overworked!  I feel for all of the workers which I know a few of them personally...grateful when I do get mine even if it is later than expected

We have had mail not show up, not get picked up on the scanners, on Informed Delivery but it is in the box anyway.  We learned to always check.

This may be slightly off topic, but I've been having problems with deliveries from all shipping companies lately.  Packages not coming when stated, tracking totally off.  When they do show up it can be any time of the day (or night) and often packages mangled and filthy.

And not just for packages.  I've had important overnight documents delayed that have had premium shipping charges paid.

None of this happened just a few years ago.  I used to be able to count on UPS in particular to arrive in fine condition like clockwork.

So it's not just USPS with problems.  For me, USPS is still the most reliable (and most economical) shipping/mailing service.

My mail usually comes between 2-3 in the afternoon.  Lately it's been coming anywhere between 5-7 pm.  When I talked to the mail carrier, she said a lot of people are out on vacation and they're short-handed.

@chessylady   I wouldn't believe what you read on social media.

I have Informed Delivery.   The mail it shows on any given day is the mail I receive that same day.  The four pieces of mail on Informed Delivery today are the pieces I received today.   We have  mail delivered 6 days a week with the exception of holidays or during the two huge snow storms we had this winter.
