Just when you though the mail delivery couldn't get any worse, it now has with the new "rules" put in place. Thanks to someone on this forum, I signed up for informed delivery. On Sat. I got my email with a list of mail to be delivered. I got none of it but did get someone else's mail. Yesterday. I put that piece of mail in my box to be redelivered. Again yesterday's informed delivery scanned the mail I should have gotten Sat. Checked the mail until 8 p.m. last night and nothing in or out. Went out this morning at 4:30 a.m. and the mail to be redelivered was still in the box, so of course, no mail delivered either. This is going to turn into a bigger mess then it already is.

The only time I have mail delivery issues is when my regular carrier isn't working. However, it's going to get slower given the new plan by the head of USPS. He should have been fired months ago.

@catter70  Have you thought about going on the government site to file a complaint?  That is probably the only way to stand a chance at getting something fixed.  My local PO was useless when I had an issue last year.

Unfortunately the President doesn't have the legal authority to fire the Postmaster General.    Hoping changes are made so that not more damage is done.

My local post office is AWESOME from the Clerks to my delivery service.  So to them Hats off to what you do every day under very difficult circumstances.

@Snoopp , thanks, yes, I have in the past because postal service here isn't great to begin with. I've tried calling the local P.O., but they either just let the phone ring or pick up and hang up. I've called the 800 # about getting the wrong mail and it's okay for a day or so then starts again. I worry about this delivery because maybe someone else got it. It was bank statements and my voting ballot. We can hope today is better.

Update: I just got my informed delivery email and it's for different mail that hasn't been delivered the past 2 days. Hoping it all comes today.

We were expecting a package , tracking said it was delivered to our mailbox , but it wasn't there .  Went to the post office with the tracking information and a copy of the report stating it was delivered . The postmaster looked it up and said his report from the delivery truck says it was delivered to our mailbox . So he says someone must have stolen the package .   It was found later at a neighborhood house 2 blocks away .  So the mailman stuck it in the wrong box , but checked it off with our address !

@catter70   USPS is really a problem created at some point by Congress, so maybe a call to your Congressional reps about the general issue.  I wouldn't expect much reaction from the mess you had in the last few days, but certainly the ongoing problems should be addressed.

@catter70 Call the local post office and speak to the postmaster if. you can.  It may be a substitute carrier doing a very poor job.

@Sooner, at one time I could call the local PO, but now they either don't answer at all or they pick up the phone and just hang up. Going to the PO is a night mare, but may have to do that.
