USPS PACKAGES RATE INCREASE OCTOBER 4TH

If you have specific questions, there's more information, but here's the blurb I found.

If you're planning to send a package, get it postmarked before October 4th!

USPS will implement temporary rate increases from October 4, 2026, through January 17, 2027, affecting Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select, with increases ranging from $0.50 up to $20.80 depending on service, weight, and zone.

Overview of the 2026–2027 USPS Rate Increase

USPS has announced a seasonal price adjustment for the 2026 holiday shipping period. These temporary increases are intended to cover additional handling costs during peak season.

Never like to see price increases, but it probably makes good business sense to them since their labor expenses will definitely increase.

Does this indicate that QVC will increase their S&S or will they just increase the item's price?  We shall see.

Re: USPS PACKAGES RATE INCREASE OCTOBER 4TH

After reading this post this morning, I went ahead and took a package to the post office, for an out of state baby shower rather then wait till next week to mail it.

And, I only mail out one Christmas gift, to Utah, and I actually already had the gifts wrapped and boxed and I'm going to go ahead and mail it tomorrow. Yes, mailing a Christmas box tomorrow.

@Tinkrbl44   this is for the Holiday season I presume?   They say temporary, lol...but nothing is temporary.  As soon as the public quits whining about it,and moves on....they keep it. But I can see the holiday increase. Internet shopping is huge, and growing each year. They have temporary help, overtime to get packages out.  I guess it's the price we pay, for arm chair shopping, and quick delivery!

@shoekitty

ITA ...  I'm pretty sure they did this last year, too, but they are very quiet about it.   It does make sense to do so, and at least they reduce the prices again on January 17, 2027.
