Well, I'm usually home so the few UPS packages that arrive are not an issue for us.

But I do remember back when I was working up north you had to either call and reschedule or opt to go to the local UPS center to get your package.

Maybe the UPS delivery man was smokey the dopey. It wouldn't be a smart move at all for UPS.

Amazon gives me the option of having packages go to a ""locker"" at various locations around me. So far I haven't tried that.

I haven't heard this but then I don't get as many packages as I used to.

I did see another interesting thing about UPS this morning. I think it was Yahoo.

That UPS drivers have a special GPS that makes sure they don't do any left turns. They showed a little enactment. ONe driver used the UPS GPS (it has a name but I don't remember it). The other used regular GPS. The one using the no left turn system finished his delivery while the other guy still had 10 packages left to deliver. Really interesting.

UPS is not sharing the technology.

Oh I forgot to say this..Many Drivers will try to give your Packages to neighbors, which is very nice. He told me that UPS doesn't want them to do that anymore. He said that takes to much time....Holy Cow.. I think UPS is losing it's mind!

scottie: I didn't see that but I vaguely remember (not with UPS) seeing something about left-hand turns and decreasing travel time sometime ago.

Not sure how it works - I guess I need to Google or something.

This will be a surefire way for UPS to go out of business.

Agree. Once a package is accepted by someone other than the intended recipient, that person, or in this case the candy store, is responsible for it.

What a nightmare - I don't imagine it will be just a few packages - does this candy store need business???

I don't know what UPS is thinking - leaving a package at an office at a complex is one thing, as our UPS person will do. But a totally removed drop site from your home???

Is the candy store owned by a Mr. Brown?

At a store? Like Foot Locker?

Seriously - where are the lockers? Never knew that about Amazon.

A note to UPS: Please leave my packages at my local Papa Johns Pizza.

I love the way you think!

LOL

If this is the way they are going to handle packages I don't see the public sitting quietly over it.

I hope they don't give my packages to my neighbors, I'll never see them! My address is 5668, a former driver kept delivering my packages to 5868, which is several houses down & around the corner from me. When I called UPS to report the package (s) missing, I was told that the driver said that he'd delivered them to 5868, which is what the package indicated. (this was not correct) When I went to retrieve my package (s), the person who lived there refused to even open their door to me. ( I saw them watching out their front window) Thankfully, whoever it was that I ordered from reshipped the order (s) in question.
