UPS Delivery Disaster; Unbelievable Happy Ending

Three days of a package being lost, and then it was delivered to an address I thought I had no connection to. When I Googled the address, the resident had an uncommon yet familiar last name. It is a niece of someone I worked with 30 years ago -- someone I always liked. Two connections for the price of one. Fate works in mysterious ways.

So glad it worked out, @PickyPicky3 .

This reminded me of a story of a package from 20 years ago.  We had sold our house to our neighbor's daughter.  We stayed in close contact with her.   I placed an order and I never got it.  The company sent out a replacement and said to contact UPS since it said it had been delivered to our old address.  So I called her and said hey, was a package for me mistakingly sent to that address?

"Yeah, but I figured it was nothing so just threw it in the other room."

For weeks while I made phone calls to deal with the company and then UPS, it sat in her spare bedroom because she thought a package for me was nothing.  Absolutely dumbfounded that an adult woman, a teacher (now a principal) didn't have the sense to say oh, my friend, the previous owner of this house, had a packaged delivered to her.  Must be nothing so I won't give her a call to let her know and just forget about it.

I received a package today from HSN.  I did order something from them but it wasn't in the box I received. When I looked at the invoice it had someone's name & address on it  I contacted HSN gavei them all the info and they are mailing me a return label to send it back.  There wasn't one in the order.

Aren't they supposed to deliver based on address?  I thought so. Name is not something they can count on for delivering a package, but the address is.

It's the address that counts.  Not the name on the order.
