I had an MRI scheduled for yesterday and upon arriving I was told someone made a mistake and the person needed to do the type of MRI I need was gone for the day and they only do these type of MRI on Tuesdays, So I had to leave and have to wait till next week. This did not go over too well, but I am over it. LIving with a headache every day, (some days way better than others, but everyday I have it), is not easy mainly because I don't know what is wrong with me. Trying to live life in the meantime but with a vacation in a couple weeks and other things going on, I am frozen with fear alot of the time and clinging to God and His promises to get me through whatever I am facing. THanks for being there for me and if you are a praying person, please include me in yours.
The same day of my MRI I am also getting the sleep study my Dr wants. I stopped the Flonase because it can CAUSE headaches but I'm thinking I should maybe start it again. Have my annual eye appt tomorrow so maybe he will figure something out to do with my eyes. At this point and actually all along I am not able to pinpoint where it hurts. IT seems to move around and come and go. UGH!
Thanks for being there and giving me your thoughts and suggestions. I always appreciate it.

@dennylily, Waiting is horrible. Will remember you each day. I have an appt. in Oct. for which I worry each day. We'll remember each other daily. PROMISE!!

Oh, I feel for you. I always say that we do a horrible job of delivery of health care in this country. Our technology is exceptional, but we do a p*ss-poor job of scheduling it. Hope you get the relief you need, and soon.

I would not wish chronic pain on my worse enemy. It usually takes multiple assessments for multople medical specialities and bunch of scans and imaging procedures. But, hang in there. They'll figure it out and when they do, they can develop a treatment plan. I can relate to not being able to pin point where the pain is. I had that problem with my knee and back pain. I remember the orthopod and the neurologist and the pain specialist could determine if my bad knee was causing my back pain or if my back was causing the knee pain.

I'm so sorry that the imaging center erred in scheduling your MRI. I've had many MRIs and don't think one has ever been mis-scheduled. It's especially concerning when you're in pain.
Though I'm not familiar with your headache history, I would strongly recommend that you seek a consultation with THE headache specialist in your state or region. Yes, that person may be a bit of a drive from you, but worth gold. The reason I say this is that I've had chronic migraine - the same migraine every day since July of 1984 - and every time we've moved have had to do a lot of research to find out who the headache/migraine guru was in my area.
We move to our present city in the summer several years ago and there is no headache specialist here woth a dime, so will be seeking someone 500 miles north from us or return to my migraine doc in La Jolla - expensive to keep flying there, though.
I wish you every good outcome regarding your MRI. My advice to you is to begin assuming that your issue might be migraine, so best would be to start eating "clean." By that I mean nothing out of a box(except clean cereals), no sea salt, nothing with modified starches/proteins, no MSG - as these ingredients cause spikes in already existing pain.
God Bless You in your quest to determine the cause of your pain.

They should have called you to tell you the person had gone home for the day. It's not like they didn't know what you were scheduled for. I would have been more than ticked off.

I echo the advice by @sfnative. Headaches are a horrible thing because they're so difficult to diagnose. Men like to think since you're a woman, it goes with the territory. These men (doctors) just don't want to admit their inability to find the reason behind your pain. I've had some luck w/Botox but the neurologist who gave the shots to me had to give them in the back of my neck for them to work. I've had Botox from other doctors that did zip.
Best of luck whatever they should decide. Nobody should be in that continual pain, I'll be thinking of you.

I’m surprised your doctor didn’t give you something for the headaches until you could get to the bottom of what’s causing them.

My friend has had debilitating headaches for over 40 years, only thing that has helped her is Botox. It was the last thing she could try, and it worked, so far so good. She even tried the Aimovig injections, did nothing
