I've been framed: Yes, very, very often I encourage teens/young women to find jobs out in the public..........it's surprising how many people/executives/company owners/managers one runs across, working with the public. A bakery is perfect! Also, coffee shops near office buildings. Just 'choose your building/company', and then find a nearby public (possibly food) service job!

p.s. Many, many years ago, I had a very brief/temporary (one week) office job in a small accounting office........Well, anyway, across the way (courtyard) was a tall-ish building. I decided to eat lunch in the courtyard. And guess what! Around noon or so, it seems as though a hundred well-dressed businessmen wandered out, having coffee, reading books, having a snack/lunch in that courtyard. (Not one woman in sight, BTW). Now, If I were looking for a full time job at that time, It would have been wise of me to ask if there were employment opportunities in that company/building. Maybe a bulletin board with job opportunities (building receptionist(s), etc. as a starting point) posted somewhere, etc. p.s. (I guess that my main point/thought is to 'be out there', no matter where you are. Being in the public (in person) gives us unlimited amounts of contact with people, some of which know of possible employment opportunities.)

I'm only 45. I work at a bank call center, I've been here for 3 years and have to use most of my PTO time to take care of my husband, illness, doctors appts, etc. I get very little time to myself and I'm just mentally and emotionally drained. Some days it take all I have to get out of bed and having Fibromyalgia doesn't help. This job, somedays, is just non-stop and gets so monotonous (sp). I'm sick of the bing-bing in my ear, the people that don't have their acct numbers, the ones who scream at you no matter how nice you are and just the general lack of respect people have overall...tired of the rudeness and short tempers.
