I cut/pasted what I wrote on the TV Talk thread today, below:

I am I love it. I actually love Jamal's character I know he is the bad guy but there is so much going on in that character and the actor is really great. I like Bassam as well and I think he is realizing he is his father. He needs to still protect his brother. As a boy it was from his dad and now it is from everything including himself. Jamal has the maturity of that 11 year old on the beach. He does not fully understand the ramifications of his actions and Bassam has been pulled back into it.

Now Bassam's wife, good lord have not liked her from the start. If this actress intended to play a naive twit then she has hit her mark. I love Jamals wife the true tyrant in that relationship. Prior to the Gaza war this was being filmed in Israel. Now it had to be moved to Turkey. I was enjoying seeing landscape locations of places I had not seen since I was a kid.
