Pete Seeger has died at the age of 94 but his music lives on.

He performed with Woody Guthrie and wrote or co-wrote "If I Had a Hammer," ''Turn, Turn, Turn," ''Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine." He also is credited with popularizing " We Shall Overcome."

"Can't prove a d@m thing, but I look upon myself as old grandpa," Seeger told the AP in 2008 when asked to reflect on his legacy. "There's not dozens of people now doing what I try to do, not hundreds, but literally thousands. ... The idea of using music to try to get the world together is now all over the place."

He didn't ""write"" Turn Turn Turn. It is a verbatim musical rendition of Ecclesiastes 3:1. He only wrote the last line and gave it a title.

Technically, yes, but he put it into a form that reached millions of young people. That was brilliant, in and of itself.

A loss. He had his music played on most all the radio stations for all to hear. His music was also a study in some college classes.

So the music itself doesn't count? That's just the lyrics.

What's THAT supposed to mean? There is a lot more to song writing besides lyrics. That was my point, but you already knew that, didn't you?
