Layla my almost 3 year old Golden has never been sick a day in her life except for a reaction to a wasp sting. Monday she started having a problem with the runs...she acts fine but occasionally will turn her nose up at food. This has been going on all week, seems to have stopped but last night she vomited totally undigested dinner. She does not have a blockage, still eats treats and good stuff, drinks well, wants to play and I can hear tummy sounds.
I gave her a bland diet for a few days, pepto, increased her colostrum dose and added a probiotic...I am a bit fearful that this stems from the parvo vaccine reaction she had last month and she will now be joining Hurley in his IBD issues (just what we need). The only other things I can think of is that she and Hurley shared a possum last Friday...but she didn't do much with it Hurley stole it from her. They of course are eating tons of wonderful bunny treats left in our yard, and stealing apples from the neighbors trees. When we first went through this with Hurley the Vets were of no help at all...they wanted to keep worming him even though fecal was negative (worst thing to do is keep worming a dog with an already bad tummy), or cut him open to remove part of his bowel "to see what we can see" LOL.
I can take her to my holistic guy tomorrow but any Vet trip for Layla now requires ACE (yes we now have our own bottle)...and I don't think giving her that when she is already having problems is a good idea plus I am really fearful about giving it to her ever. Any other suggestions to get her through this? Like I said she is acting fine, still wants to fetch all the time, eating and drinking although picky about food.
TIA
