Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

The world has changed and people don't want stuff.  I don't want much stuff.  I haven't been in a store like this in many years and am trying to get rid of most of what I have that came from one.

Interesting...I was at the main Tuesday Morning store a few days ago and talked to one of the long-time employees....the corporate offices are just down the street. I asked about the doom and gloom stories I had been seeing regarding their fainacial woes...she said they just found new investors and so will be remaining open. Will be so disappointed if they all close. It is my main source for beautiful room-sized rugs and great name-brand kitchenware, etc. The store is the size of a Walmart so always lots of great things to browse. I hope what the employee told me is true and they stay open. Edited to say I just got the "going out of business" email yesterday! I went to the warehouse store where I shop and everything was 10% off. No big deal. A woman there said they will be bringing more unsold stuff from the other stores over the next few weeks. The employee who told me they weren't closing must have been told that by management so they wouldn't quit or somehting. BedBath&Beyond is closing up also...I need a 100% cotton comforter and can't find one...I feel abandoned...

Many of their smaller stores have been closing the last couple of years but the large stores here are still open. Maybe it's because they are close to corporate HQ.

Haven't seen one in ages, but I once bought luggage there.

Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

I've only been in a Tuesday Morning store once.  I thought it was just okay.  Sorry to hear that's it's closing, especially sorry for all those who will loose their jobs.  We went to our local mall last night.  So many stores have closed and I honestly don't know how the mall is staying afloat.  Even the stores that have remained close early.  JCP is closed by 6 p.m.  All the store closures and layoffs, it really is depressing.

They didn't last long, did they?  I learned of them about 20 years ago when one opened 15 or so miles away.  I always intended to check it out, but never got around to it.  I guess "word on the street" wasn't very compelling.  Further, I don't think they sent advertising or sales circulars.

Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

As with all retail stores, some were better stocked than others, some were better managed than others, and some where in a better location than others.

I always liked to browse especially when they would first get in their seasonal items like summer garden items, Halloween decorations, Christmas decorations and cards.

It was a wonderful store to shop for rugs, lamps, luggage, kitchen gadgets, bedding, puzzles and toys. Occasionally a small appliance would catch my eye.

It was always hit or miss what you would find but I enjoyed walking up and down their aisles. It was a mindless distracting way to decompress after a rough day at work.

Last month I drove out of my way to visit the only store still remaining in my area. I didn't buy what I had hoped to find and left with only a handful of small items.

I'm going to miss it.

I believe our Tuesday Morning went out of business some time ago.  I went there once and it was horrible.  Very disorganized.  I never went back.

Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

Our Tuesday Morning store closed more than 5 years ago.

It was always a challenge not feeling like I had a layer of dust all over me when I walked out of that store.  It was the perfect place to rummage through a ton of stuff, none of which I ever really needed.

Re: Tuesday Morning Going Out Of Business

I used to shop at Tuesday Morning frequently, but it's been a very long time since I have.  I could find so many things there from sheets and bedding to kitchen wares, gift wrap and many other things.

I went in there a year or two ago and didn't find it interesting at all.

@Trailrun23   I just went to Tuesday Morning's website and they have an announcement that all of their stores are closing.
