I think it's dumb, put the empty roll in with the recycling.

I agree!! A tp roll is PAPER - or at best, cardboard....recycle it with your other paper products!

I think it's a marketing gimmick.

Are they passing the tube savings on to their customers? What I find when I read "new and improved" on certain necessary items is this. New packaging and less product, but always a higher price. The words "New and Improved" always sound and read better, but I find little change in most that advertise this is BIG bold letters or words.

Sounds pretty simple to me to leave out the tube. Think of how many things you have rolled up tube like, sans a tube.

LOL, who knew people were so attached to the tubes? Wink

I have been buying this for at least one year....maybe my city was a test market!

I like it a lot, but you have to be careful to make sure it's centered correctly, or it won't "roll."

Does it lose its form? I can't believe I'm asking about TP Ha!

No. Once you make sure the opening in the center is round (I squeeze it into shape) it's fine. It probably takes 10 seconds to get it situated. I'm 100% behind anything that cuts down on waste, so I like this TP!

Thanks for the information on this, Terrier. I was wondering those things when I saw the commercial a while back.

I've seen it advertised on tv but haven't yet looked for it in my local stores.

Now what will thousands of pre-schoolers cover with glitter & ribbon to give to their Moms for Mothers Day?

I was just thinking the same thing. What will all the kiddie crafters do now?

I remember, decades ago of course, making a bowl (for smoking weed or hash) out of those toilet paper rolls. Worked great with just a little bit of aluminum foil and a pin to put tiny holes in the foil. {#emotions_dlg.devil2}

I just saw the commercial a few weeks ago. IF it WORKS, great, I have no issues. I don't see why the roll space couldn't be standard and the cylinder on the holder would just slide into the opening.......this would provide support and could be used over and over........I have noticed at my Costco the milk containers are squared more and I was told that the shipping cost is reduced so I suppose with things being shipped from here to there any savings on shipping costs is good.

My dog won't like this. She loves toilet paper bones. As soon as she sees you are using the last square of TP off the roll, she gets so excited. I toss the cardboard roll for her to run after. If there is a bit of toilet paper stuck on the roll, she eats it off. She then tears the roll to shreds and I pick up the pieces and throw them in the trash.

She just loves to do that! LOL
