Didn't know where exactly to post this!
I don't know about anyone else but I am already sick and tired of the crowds. You can't go any where or do anything without a line. It doesn't matter where you go -- drug stores, food stores, discount stores -- every where!!! So much for trying to do anything or get anhthing done in a hurry! I am just venting. i realize its that time of the year.
I do love Christmas but this is the part I hate about it! I like to shop locally as it's good for our economy. And I have the majority of my shopping done, but there are still things you need to buy and things you need to accomplish that have nothing to do with Christmas.
I just grit my teeth when I have to go in the stores now. Just wonderfing if anyone else is feeling it.
And so many places just don't seem prepared for it. No extra help - nothing.
Well -- that's all -- like I said --- just letting off steam!!!
Merry, Merry!!! ![]()

AngelPuppy, I just finished shopping ONLINE for groceries! My grocery store has a delivery service--only costs $8 (total) for delivery. I don't do grocery stores anymore! Check with yours and see if they offer this service!! I also shop online for most gifts, too. I haven't been to a mall in years!!! Oh, and my drugstore has a drive-through window!!!

I remember being young when the crowds and traffic didn't bother me; had opposite effect as it made me feel festive and inspired. Now, i just get grouchy!
I do most of shopping online and usually in November. Now what will get me crabby is going to the post office to mail things, ugh!!

I also am doing my grocery shopping online during this season. I can either have them delivered for about $10, or pick up for $5. I picked up an order the day before Thanksgiving & the store was a madhouse. I was so happy that I didn't have to shop the aisles! The down side is not being able to select my own choices in produce, though the store shoppers do a pretty good job of it. I know this service isn't an option for everyone & I do sympathize with the hassles of shopping in the stores!

I shop at a regular grocery store, not a super store type place like Walmart, so grocery shopping doesn't bother me at all. I learned years ago not to go to the grocery store the 3 days before Thanksgiving. I went on the Saturday before and it was shopping like usual. Same with the Saturday after.
I did the majority of my shopping on-line this year but everything I bought has a store in our area so if need be, it can be returned in the store. No one has to worry about mailing anything back.
I have a few gift cards I need to get but I will buy those at my grocery store. I also have a few smaller things I need to pick up and I'm not sure when that will happen. That may happen on-line as well.

Yesterday while I was getting my chemo treatment, one of the nurses was telling another patient there that she had gotten everything she needed at one store over the weekend, and got up to the checkout......it took 2 hours for them to get to her to checkout. No time to shop.....but the checkout did it for her....

I went to Macy's yesterday, discount cards and credit card in hand. It was exhausting, I didn't see a thing to buy. Came straight home and shopped the internet. Bought a couple things from QVC too. In my area, traffic and parking are awful too.
For many items I do shop locally, but remember all those internet vendors from Amazon on down employ people and support their local economies too. And UPS we have to help them too, right? Just kidding....

As long as I'm able, I will continue to do my own grocery shopping. Just can't walk the store anymore, so I ride the cart around and get everything I need or want. They do help me out to the car and load the bags in the car for me. Am able to pull up to the back door, open the door and set my bags inside, then go park my car. Then when I get inside, I put my bags right inside the door to my apartment.....which is just inside the main door.
Try to make sure I have plenty on hand in case I can't get there when I feel I need to.

Well its not just your area I think its everywhere. As the snowbirds are back in our area ugh traffic is crazy.
I 'm so spoiled now with "instant gratification" by shopping online that when I have to wait even a few minutes I get annoyed.
I really don't love shopping in general, I go in what I need and if they have it great if not right out of the store!
Today, I encountered so many "young people" who are cashiers, store help, etc. who really could care less if you were helped or not! I'm not saying anything against the "young ones" but our Publix has changed over to these young high school kids and I'm telling you they talk to each other, talk to another cashier, let you stand there while they check their phone, etc. (I miss the ladies who used to work there darn them retiring! LOL)
Then you ask the bagger to please keep frozen together, etc. and you get home and frozen food is packed with my reg stuff makes me crazy or how about my deli stuff packed with the onions! This is my pet peeve!
Oh no I'm turning into my Mom after all!!! Deep breaths!!!

We do all of our shopping online. I even order gift cards online too. Anyway I am usually finished and wrapped by now but I am behind. I have to finish my sons gifts yet and I am done! I got most of it ordered on cyber Monday.
Here is a tip, simply start earlier. There are deals all year long. I used to start in July and finish by November 1st when I went out to stores. I think people cause issues by waiting. Plus when the children in our family were younger, if you wait you miss the popular toys.
