Threads about childrens' names always make me think of a friend of mine whose late sister was Frank Zappa's widow.   (For those who aren't familiar with Gail and Frank's childrens' names:  Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet, and Diva Muffin.)   I think I can understand the desire for children to have their own unique names...  but I also like so many of the more "traditional" names, too.   To each her/his own.Smiley

@dooBdoo  I've often tried but always failed to talk my friends and relatives into naming their child Dweezil.

My kids both have very old, classic names. In fact, many people think I invented my son's name - which blows my mind - because it is a name of ancient kings.
